From Ms. Kim of the Korea Tourist Organization: On Zenith Travel and their ad in the Korea Times:
I just got back to my office holding the Korea Times in my hand. It is not tolerable. It is definitely criminal activity.
To find a way to solve this problem, I just spoke with a police officer in the Seocho Police Office(Tel : 3483-9366), he said all victims should bring an accusation against Mr. Kang.
If you need any help while you are visiting police office, please feel free to contact me at 02-735-0101
I will do my best to solve this issue.
Thank you Sincerely, H. J. Kim

On that weekend when the hood clutters up with rubberneckers, day-trippers and open-mike poets with no talent, it can actually mean something. There is one stroke of organizational genius that will make this another HBC landmark occasion: Turn it into a PROTEST EVENT. Occupy the main drag of Haebangchon. Take the boulevard of Facebook updates and turn it into ‘Liberation Row.’ I mean maybe the Brooklyn Bridge can’t be took so why not take the overpass into Itaewon? What to protest: That you are a rising star in the world and no one knows it, of course! I mean what is your net worth if only one percent of the people you know believes that you are somebody. Excluding friends and family who have to pander to you there is another 90% of people in your world who don’t believe you are anything at all! They won’t follow you on Twitter; so what’s to be done about them? You have to show them. Get yourself camera ready, get on Haebangchon’s one main street and start primal screaming that you have worth.
What to scream?

Platoon Kunsthalle, Seoul
September 19-30, 2011
In a series of words in billboard-like signs, “Ever After 9/11″ explores the post-9/11 American psyche on the 10th anniversary of the day after everything changed, including the meaning of words. Artist Julia Kim Smith and poet David Beaudouin cull words from fairy tales, the traditional morality stories, and from political rhetoric, arguably the new morality stories, and present them as icons to be reconstructed into modern tales which draw from both the past and present.

Back in March of this year, I called them and requested a reservation to the US. The person running the show, a Mr. Kang Wystan…sent me an email with a suitable schedule and a price of 1,649,000 won…not exactly the cheapest but given the times we are in, it was OK. I sent an email back and said I would like to make the reservation…he responded by saying that I had to pay the amount that day by 5pm to keep the reservation. He sent me his bank info and I went to the bank and transferred the money, before 5 and called him to let him know I sent it. All seemed ok until I didnt get any confirmation email. I didnt give it much thought, my bad, the warning bells should have gone off. I sent him several emails and phone calls, until over a week later he sent me a confirmation of the itinerary and a confirmation number.

Camp Casey
U.S. Army Private First Class Andre Fisher, 22, will stand in a Korean appeals court on August 9, 2011 in an attempt to overturn a two year conviction, based on grainy video evidence in which the perpetrator’s face was not visible.
After a night out partying, Fisher was accused by a taxi driver of stealing $88 from his taxi. Having denied even entering the cab, Fisher emptied his pockets which contained $14. Fisher was taken into custody by Korean police, and subsequently stood trial in which the prosecutor’s solitary evidence was a grainy surveillance video of a man wearing a hood with his face obscured. Fisher was sentenced to a 2 year prison term and awaits his pending appeals hearing.
According to Fisher’s family, Fisher’s Camp Casey military commanders have been unresponsive to their inquiries, and the U.S. Embassy admits no knowledge of the case.

A Statement by the Asian Human Rights Commission
The long struggle of a female worker has drawn the attention of both the local and international community. Ms. Kim Jin-suk, a member of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) has been occupying the cabin of Crane No. 85, which is 35 metres high, in the shipyard of Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction (HHIC) in Busan for six months. Ms. Kim is demanding that the company reconsider the dismissal of dozens of employees and is refusing to leave the cabin despite being sentenced for trespass in January. The sentence carried a find of KRW One Million (approximately US$ 1,000) for each day she has occupied and continues to occupy the crane cabin. Her struggle casts doubts as to the society’s interest in matters of labour and also the role of the government in respecting, protecting and fulfilling the human rights of a third party when business enterprises are involved.
